why would you even bother reading a fic that refers to people as “it” in the first place

Why do you think it’s okay to treat people like objects?

why do you think people who have chosen to use it pronouns don’t deserve to be respected? for some people it is the only pronoun they’re comfortable with. these are people who have often been attacked with it and still choose it because of how de-gendered it is. we are talking about self-identification here, not abuse.

 I honestly thought this was about characters who aren’t even people before I got to that last one. Like one of the characters is a robot or some sort of monster or something and everyone is just fine with “it”.

 It’s like I got to a plot twist.
