So with as much as I’ve played the demo of injustice. It’s definatly a lot better than I thought it would be (I thought it would be shit). Its actually kinda fun and a lot faster than MK9.

However it lacks an emotional impact. Maybe its cause I’m stuck with Batman Wonder Woman and Lex, but I feel a lack of personality. Everything  falls kind a flat. The music very VERY boring for a fighting game. It’s not action packed, jazzy, hype, or anything. Its dull uninteresting orchestral background.

The hits don’t feel like they have much of an impact compared to when I play 2D games where every hit or slice feels like it made a hard impact from the heavy sound effects.  The stages don’t look bad, but from the ones I’ve seen. While they some look nice they also look kinda lifeless. Even if there is stuff in the background it just feels like it falls flat. Which is weird for a game where the stages are interactive.

Lastly, the worst part is that I feel no satisfaction from winning. This is where it is most disappointing. Other fighters have loud winning song, an announcer shouting something, a sweet results screen and a cool pose or something.

There is no announcer to shout you win and make you feel good (unless I’m forgetting), the win quotes feel really lack luster. Even the characters don’t really seem to give a shit that they won, and the win poses are dull with no impact. They say something then switch to some other screen with the character posing over something, and it just doesn’t feel good. There’s no music or anything to go with it, which makes it just and awkward transition.

In short I think the gameplay is actually super sweet even though I thought environment interaction would be horrible, but the game falls flat in the aesthetics that are very important to making a fighting game feel satisfying, but this is all just how I feel.
