Everyone acts like they’re so understanding of the symptoms of autism in people, being sure not to treat people badly for having “uncommon” special interests, and not making fun of people on the spectrum for their various quirks or social difficulties. And that’s good! No person should be made fun of for obsessing over a specific interest or character or anything, especially with ASD.

But once autistic people develop or fixate on “weird” or unusual sexual fetishes (the harmless kind like vore, inflation, bondage, transformation, more obscure stuff, etc etc), they’re suddenly FAIR GAME for public mocking, ridicule, judgement, shaming, and hatred.

So like yeah cool guys way to pick and choose which autistic traits are “funny” or not and which ways their sexuality develops (whether it be asexuality or the total opposite) are acceptable and which you can ridicule.

Honestly most things related to making fun of people for being “weird” or “cringey” make me super uncomfortable anymore.

It’s especially disappointing when it comes from people claiming to be “on point” with their politics and caring about others. It comes across as this weird defining of acceptable targets for arbitrary reasons. If we can’t make fun of this group of people then we have to find somebody to pick on and nobody is gonna give us a hassle for making fun of the kids who like to draw inflation or vore art. Like the stuff is certainly goofy but there is a place to acknowledge that and not be a jerk about it? Especially when these aren’t the people who are hurting anybody (not to imply that they can’t, but it’s not inherent to these interests). People making jokes about calling the cops, needing Jesus, and just general “kinkshaming” are all super gross. It’s bullying over people having harmless albeit different interests. I see it happen a lot and it’s not funny. Lot of times the victims of this are simply happy to be enjoying themselves and not hurting anyone.

i’m never going to claim these people are oppressed in any way, but the bullying is totally there and needs to be acknowledged. This stuff isn’t cool.

yeah, exactly! Thanks for your extra input. It’s just straight up bullying for no reason. I just want people to really think about their teasing, just really think about how theyre acting when they make fun of people.

I think this taps into why I find the kinkshaming memes (???) to be not very funny at all. Or is at least one of the reasons. Seriously though I think the only time I’ve found flippant kinkshaming jokes to be funny would depend heavily depend on context, who’s saying it and what is being said. But when it’s taking potshots at kinks and fetishes that already get ridiculed even though they’re, on most part, harmless, then yeah, it gets my hackles up.

People into unusual stuff know its unusual and don’t need neurotypicals pointing it out every five seconds so they can feel superior for not being made up in a way they didn’t ask for that leads them to like things they can’t help and doubly dang so when they’re autistic because holy heck if it isn’t more common due to hyperempathy elements. If you like something that isn’t on the curriculum, you’re a freak and bad and you should know that like your own mind isn’t screaming it at you every five minutes due to being bombarded by stuff you can’t relate to all the time passively and god forbid you try and openly express yourself with it.

If you draw it well, you’re a waste of skill. If you draw it and you aren’t in the top percentile like me, you’re cringe art fodder as though you should be punished for trying. Cos, you know, folks with learning difficulties need to be told they shouldn’t try or express themselves openly. Heck, they shouldn’t express themselves in their own spaces and communities because why, those are a veritable goldmine for people who want to earn social currency by going ‘hey, look at the the freaks’. It’s a sideshow that we don’t get paid to be in.

I’ve honestly always despised people adding “Find jesus” and stuff like that to any sexual post. It takes all the fun out of everything to have stuff constantly shut down with “you need to find jesus”. I wish I could delete all of it.
