What I want to see in the 5th Animal Crossing

Things I personally would like to see in the animal crossing after New Leaf. Some of it just being things from newleaf I would like updated.

-Not having to separate Booker and Copper. That was just cruel and it means missing out on a character in your town.

-choosing your skin tone.

-Combining character personality types. So villagers of the same base personality can still be different. This is nice so two characters of the same type don’t feel almost like the same person. For example making a villager that’s currently Jock into Jock+cranky.

-Making the personality types able to apply to both male villagers and female ones regardless.

-Villagers actually putting some of their own money into public works projects. New Leaf seems like it wants public works projects to have a community feeling, but since you put in all the money that feeling doesn’t exist. This leads into

-Being able to ask for errands again. Doing favors for them would make them feel more inclined to put money into public works. I honestly find having to wait for an animal to need me to be one of the more tedious changes in the series (though it does make them a little more like people I’ll admit) Animals coming to you should still be a thing, but you should also be able to just ask.

-villagers sending letters of public works projects they want. Having to wait till a villager randomly decides it wants to tell you about a new one is an annoying way to unlock new projects and it might be forever before some come to the player, especially when something stops the villager from getting to tell the player. Having the villagers send letters makes it easier to not miss them and come in faster.

-Make blathers ramble about your findings again with an option of whether or not to listen to it. Taking out his rants made the character feel like absolutely nothing and was very sad.

-adjust placing public works projects to be a bit like placing an object in the sims. As it is its hard to where they do and don’t fit and it can be very frustrating. When doing it this way the mayor and Isabelle can look at a map of the town then decide where to place it.

-more opportunities for interactions between the non-villager NPCs. Since they have their own stories and distinct personalities it would be nice to be able to get more of that. The coffee shop does a bit of a job at this but could do more with more than one NPC coming at once. It feels weird for Labelle to rejoin her sisters, but then not be in the same room so she could never have conversations with them. I want more places for these characters to meet and have conversations. The club could be a good place for this along with the coffee shop.

Having a few more responsibilities as mayor (that you can choose not to bother with) As it is you can make new stuff in the town and make ordinances. And ordinances only change things a bit to fit your play-style better but don’t actually do much. For example

- Dealing with arguments between villagers. Two villagers can get into a dispute and come to you the mayor to come to a decision on it. The player than chooses which villager they will side with for the situation

-Booker and Copper finding a villager who committed a (very petty and sily) crime and asking you what their community service should be. Such as pulling weeds, planting flowers

- the popular, being able to assign where people’s houses go
