Okay but uh, if you see an autistic person talking about their special interest, pay attention to them!!!! Like their posts!!! Ask them about it!!! Engage them!!!! Do not ignore them!!!!!!!
Don’t ignore this and don’t ignore autistic people talking about what’s most important to us
Now autism is a spectrum, and I’m not really sure where on the spectrum we are talking about. But personally as someone with Aspergers I do not believe its anyone’s responsibility to pay attention to me when I decide I want to go on about something.
Like being payed attention to is great and I’d love for people to pay engage with me when I want to talk about all the shows and games I’ve put focus in, but not if people are only listening because they have to or else they’re the asshole who didn’t pay attention to the asperger’s guy.
Maybe I’m missing the point, maybe I’m taking it a bit to literally, but I’m not too sure if I 100% agree with the message of this post.
