Welcome to the RWBY FINALE!

  Where we left off episode 11 things were looking super dire. Our heroes are just catching their breath from their last fight that nearly killed to of them, and there’s a whole in the city letting in tones of grim to kill everyone. We see citizen run in terror as grimm viciously chase after them. Credits

  Now episode 12 comes out and…. all of that amounts to nothing really. An entire load of tension was dropped on us at the end of 11, but it ultimately culminates to all the characters kicking grimm ass and feeling awesome about it. It throws that tension away. Now all the characters coming to fight the grimm is appropriate, but it should have been a desperate fight to protect the people. We should have scene more of the citizens being killed, attacked, and running for their lives. To see the impact and loss that an event like this would have. That would have been the appropriate follow up to the last episodes ending. That would have had the appropriate level of drama for a finale. That loss would have had the harsh impact to the plot and characters. What we got was an upbeat character showcase with no substance to it aside from its action. Rock music,a witty one liner or two, and some new characters that we are supposed to think are awesome. (They are tho)

  By the end of the episode everything has basically gone to status quo. Team rwby has beat the bad guy, kinda. Vale suffered damage that amounted to a small hole in the ground and a few wrecked shopped. No one even died apparently, people were just hurt. All that’s changed is something involving Ironwood now being in charge for the protection of the vale tournament.

  This season was real great up to this point. This ending made the rest of the season amount to nothing aside from its character development. The plot has effectively only taken one tiny little step with Ironwood and Ozpin and nothing else has really changed from the first episode of the season to this one.

 This is my first time really writing a review like this, and its because its my first time really being so disappointing by an episode. I don’t really know how to put it all in words, but I hope this communicates it well. I love this show, but that ending just makes me feel so let down.
