A sketch I was working on for a few days, I think Emphi came out really good here, now if only I could draw the background I wanted. I’ll probably try to work on the digital version today or tomorrow.
Ghost of a Tale on Indie-Go-Go
You play as a mouse on an adventure set in a medieval world. At the beginning of the game, you get to the Island of Periclave. Now what is the mouse looking for? What happened on the island? Why are there undead rats roaming around? That will be up to you to discover.
What’s known is that the island has long been a disputed outpost for the Army of the Rats. But today, it is reputed to be haunted. And tales are talking about a fabulous treasure high up in the Tower of Periclave. But it would be folly to try and get there. Even for a mighty warrior. And this little mouse certainly doesn’t look like one…
Hey everyone! I’m signal-boosting this Indiegogo campaign cause it’s only got 9days left and I really hope it can make it to the end! It’s just about halfway so please check it out and toss a few dollars its way if you can.
It’s about a little anthropomorphic mouse, it’s full of other anthropomorphic critters like undead rats and frogs and all sorts of awesome shit. It looks beautiful!! Thanks for supporting!
Oh geez how long ago was this asked. Its been a long time since I logged in here.
But not really. For one I don’t have a working mouse I use my computer via tablet (its not fun) so pretty much anything requiring the mouse is out of the way.
I play a few indie games I guess. I mostly play Melty Blood on this thing now, on occasion.
Chasm, by Discord Games
On Kickstarter now!
Chasm (pronounced kaz-um) is a 2D Action-RPG Platformer currently in development for Windows, Mac, & Linux. Taking equal inspiration from hack ‘n slash dungeon crawlers (procedurally generated dungeons, loot drops, etc) and Metroidvania-style platformers, the game aims to immerse you in its 2D fantasy world full of exciting treasure, deadly enemies, and abundant secrets.
boom, back’d
I support kickstarter games!
So with as much as I’ve played the demo of injustice. It’s definatly a lot better than I thought it would be (I thought it would be shit). Its actually kinda fun and a lot faster than MK9.
However it lacks an emotional impact. Maybe its cause I’m stuck with Batman Wonder Woman and Lex, but I feel a lack of personality. Everything falls kind a flat. The music very VERY boring for a fighting game. It’s not action packed, jazzy, hype, or anything. Its dull uninteresting orchestral background.
The hits don’t feel like they have much of an impact compared to when I play 2D games where every hit or slice feels like it made a hard impact from the heavy sound effects. The stages don’t look bad, but from the ones I’ve seen. While they some look nice they also look kinda lifeless. Even if there is stuff in the background it just feels like it falls flat. Which is weird for a game where the stages are interactive.
Lastly, the worst part is that I feel no satisfaction from winning. This is where it is most disappointing. Other fighters have loud winning song, an announcer shouting something, a sweet results screen and a cool pose or something.
There is no announcer to shout you win and make you feel good (unless I’m forgetting), the win quotes feel really lack luster. Even the characters don’t really seem to give a shit that they won, and the win poses are dull with no impact. They say something then switch to some other screen with the character posing over something, and it just doesn’t feel good. There’s no music or anything to go with it, which makes it just and awkward transition.
In short I think the gameplay is actually super sweet even though I thought environment interaction would be horrible, but the game falls flat in the aesthetics that are very important to making a fighting game feel satisfying, but this is all just how I feel.
