It got re-released as an hd version in january this year completely un-fucking-beknownst to me and i’m guessing to a lot of other people as well due to their lack of advertisements (can’t advertise the game with a black girl lead hmmmmmm WONDER WHY)
I remember when this game got announced and I was hella excited about it as anyone who has been following me since that e3 can remember but, as much as i love games, and as much as i love the idea of playing as a female assassin, i’m not going to buy a system for ONE game.
I totally would have bought this shit on the re-release had i known about it, but i didn’t until about three days ago. and that’s saying something because i am always on steam looking for shit to play. the fact that i didn’t know it EXISTED until earlier this week is fucking baffling to me
Don’t fucking sit there and pretend like this is our fault when the chances are that you motherfuckers didn’t know about this game either until you decided to use it as a weapon against women who give a shit about representation in games, goddamn. And please don’t act like you know DICK about the industry, blaming us for not buying this, while you completely fail to recognize that the ac game with a woc lead was set aside for a small ass market initially. that was a conscious decision. They chose, purposefully, to make this game one that would not be available to the vast majority of gamers.
Why’d they do that, huh? Why wasn’t it given more ads? Why wasn’t it marketed like every other ac game is? Or is that shit our fault too.
Secondly just becuase it has a female lead doesn’t mean I’m immediately interested again. By the point this came out I was pretty “meh” on assassins’ creed as a series and I’m sure a lot of other people where two.
So don’t pull that “and you didn’t buy it” shit on people because hey MAYBE SOME PEOPLE DIDN’T FUCKING WANT IT. Not because she’s black, or because she’s a girl, but because they just don’t want the fucking game. Its no one’s duty to buy a game purely for social justicw reasons.

It feels like I am the only person on tumblr that honestly things all the conferences where great and that it has been a fantastic first day of e3.
Sometimes I feel like I’m in the wrong for being so non cynical and uncritical.

I am fucking down for GOLF WITHOUT BOUNDERIES! I actually really love arcade golf games, I played them a lot on PS2 and I am loving the new Mario Golf. So if the new PGA whatever actually has a blance between real and arcade golf I will go for it.
Battlefeild Hardlines looks super freaking fun
Mirrors Edge 2 looks like it will probably be as great as the last one.
And I love the sims series I just can’t afford all those expansions every time man. So many expansions!
I feel kinda sorry for the gamers that play sports games and how they get absolutely no respect from the rest of gamers.
trailers for games with male protagonists are wheeled out, main characters look cool and competent while they take out enemies
first game with a female protagonist is announced, trailer is all about how hard it all is what a struggle it is for her to engage in conflict
I’m pretty sure it was more about acknowledging how everything Laura went through was actually straight up traumatizing. Which is what most series try to ignore from their content.
Then again I’m watching everything while in a skype chat so I didn’t hear all the dialogue exactly.

I know this is tumblr and its all about inclusion and social justice and stuff.
But even then I can’t understand how someone one can watch these things and ALL they see is “eww white people”
Like one of the things I saw for a new phantom dust was “super powered white people ruin everything” Like. Seriously? And similar for Sunset overdrive. Like you completely disregard the art style, sick gameplay, and attitude just to get “another white guy with stubble” out of it.
I’d would love to see more diversity too, but man if I had social justice glasses on as tight as some of these people seem to I’d never be able to enjoy anything again.
That all aside pretty hype for Tomb Raider (though I prefer the old tomb raider style), Phatnom Dust, and ESPECIALLy Ori and the Blind Forest.
